Phase 1: Welcome & Setup

First Steps
  • Sign Franchise Agreement & Pay Fee
    Executed FDD and franchise fee payment confirmed
  • Receive Welcome Email + Onboarding Packet
    Ops manual, marketing guidelines, menu overview, vendor list
  • Kickoff Call with the Team
    Intro to systems, timeline review, Q&A with Sam (COO) and the HQ team
  • Secure Your Location

  • Set Up Business Bank Account
    Recommended: Mercury for business banking. Open Mercury Account →
  • Secure Permits & Inspections
    Local health, business license, fire dept
  • Begin Space Renovation
    Jackie (jackie@sunriseshackhawaii.com) handles all store design, build-out & equipment sourcing. She provides the design package — layout, colors, materials, ADA compliance — and works directly with your contractor. Also on Slack.

  • Set Up Square POS Account
    Contact Jasmine at (323) 475-9547 for onboarding. Create via our referral link. Name format: "Sunrise Shack – [Territory]". Need: 3-5 Android KDS, cash drawer, Square Register. Then email admin@sunriseshackhawaii.com for menu sync.
  • Set Up WISK Inventory
    Connect with corporate for recipe & cost data import
  • Set Up Brinks SmartSafe
    Contact Lynn Sumrall: Email Brinks → Schedule installation, get access codes from corporate.
  • Set Up FloWater System
    Filtered water for all beverages. Email FloWater →
  • Set Up Phone & Internet
    Establish phone number and internet service at your location before POS setup
  • Set Up Review Sites
    Google Business, Yelp, Apple Maps, TripAdvisor. Email admin@sunriseshackhawaii.com to set up — they will invite you and get everything configured.

Phase 3: Hiring & Training

Weeks 6-10
  • Hire 21+ Team Members
    Post on Indeed, interview, onboard in Square
  • Certify 1 Manager + Shift Leads (ServSafe)
    1 manager and all shift leads must be ServSafe certified before training begins
  • Enroll All Staff in Opus LMS
    Training modules: Welcome, Core Ops, Safety & Sanitation. Open Opus Dashboard →
  • Complete 6-Day Training Program
    Day 1: Orientation | Day 2: Hands-On | Day 3: Stations | Day 4: Rehearsal | Day 5: Friends & Family | Day 6: Grand Opening
  • All Staff Pass Employee Test
    Written assessment before working independently
  • Order Uniforms
    SS shirts, hats, aprons for managers - through WISK Boutique

Phase 4: Launch & Go-Live

Weeks 10-12
  • Grand Opening Marketing Checklist
    Social media, local partnerships, PR push
  • Final Walkthrough with Corporate
    Brand standards, equipment check, menu verification
  • Friends & Family Soft Launch
    Live service simulation - Day 5 of training
  • GRAND OPENING
    Doors open to public! Corporate trainers on-site for support.
  • Submit First Weekly P&L Report
    Using Square analytics & WISK reporting templates
  • Schedule Ongoing Support Cadence
    Weekly check-ins via Slack huddles or Google Meet for first 90 days. Monthly franchisee roundtable calls. Quarterly performance reviews with Sam or Paul. TGG Accounting begins royalty processing & reporting.
